Use your Head to Stop the Spread (of Oil)!

Air Tan & Salon Cut-A-Thon! Collecting Hair, Nylons and Funds To help clean up the Oil Spill in the Gulf.

Matter of Trust, an environmental non-profit, has helped clean up oil spills in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 1998 by reusing donated hair clippings from hair salons, barber shops, pet groomers, and wool farmers. Stuffing this donated hair into donated nylon stockings, this organization creates highly absorbent booms to contain oil spills.

Starting at noon, Air Tan's Cosmetologists will be providing haircuts for a minimal donation of $20. All proceeds benefit Matter of Trust a non for profit organization that is Linking Ideas, Sparking Action. Materializing Flourishing Systems.
Matter of Trust is a ecological public charity that concentrates on Man-made Surplus, Natural Surplus and Eco-Education.

Women, men, and children of all ages are encouraged to participate in this great opportunity. Guests will be served on a first come, first served basis. In order to raise the highest amount possible, style-outs may not be provided, however we will have assistants on hand to blow dry.

Please spread the word and bring your friends!!

2010 OutRun the Sun Race Against Melanoma

The Air Tan staff is doing more then applying a Safe, Custom Air Tan. All of us here are recruiting friends, family and the great people of our community to join us in the '2010 Outrun the Sun' race Against Melanoma.

With the growing awareness of Melanoma and other skin cancers, Air Tan wants to help educate communities about preventive measures that reduce skin cancer rates, and help raise funds for Melanoma research.

We welcome and encourage all individual involvement to join arms with Outrun The Sun, grab your running shoes (or walking shoes) and become a part of the Air Tan Team! If you are not interested in the 5k, 5 mile run/walk or walk, there is a need for 125 day of event volunteers. "It’s support with a purpose. "

If you are interested in more information or would like to register please visit the website OutrunTheSun.org
